Remotely Accessing your EMH from the Internet

This article outlines how to enable internet access to your Leviton Energy Monitoring Hub (EMH) datalogger’s web interface. If you're considering this for your metering application, we strongly recommend involving someone with networking or IT experience from the start.

Be aware that additional costs may apply, including fees for configuring your internet connection and potential ongoing IT support.

In most cases, you'll need a public, static IP address from your internet service provider—whether via landline or cellular. This often incurs extra monthly charges beyond your standard data plan. You should also confirm that your provider doesn’t block specific ports that could interfere with accessing the EMH interface.

Whoever manages the modem/router and any LAN equipment between the EMH and the internet must ensure proper configuration to enable connectivity. To access the EMH’s web interface, port 443 (HTTPS) must be forwarded, and firewall rules should allow the necessary traffic.

We strongly recommend using a long, complex password to secure device access. Additionally, configure the firewall to restrict access to specific public IP addresses. For optimal security and setup, consult your IT professional.
