Mounting HDBaseT Extenders

How are the HDBaseT extenders mounted? Can the tapped holes on the bottom of the units be used?

We don’t recommend using the tapped holes on the bottom of the HDBaseT extenders for mounting. Instead, we recommend using the mounting brackets that come with the extenders.  These brackets have slotted holes for screws or for Velcro straps.

The tapped holes in the bottom of the extenders are very shallow and if too long of a screw is used, it can contact the circuit board inside and cause damage.

One additional caution when mounting the extenders:  Keep the air vent slots open on the ends to maintain cooling air flow.  The HDBaseT chipset, especially the transmitter, dissipates quite a bit of heat, so it’s best to keep the cooling vent slots unobstructed.
