GFCI Variable Voltage Range?

Newbie

We have a customer that wants to have a GFCI receptacle installed as a variable voltage receptacle controlled by a Superior Power-stat. 0VAC to 140VAC 60 Hz. 15 Amps.

Will a commercial grade GFCI trip with a voltage range of 30VAC to 140VAC?

    Larry,

A GFCI is not designed to be utilized in this matter, and is not designed to monitor voltage fluctuations.  A GFCI will only trip when a current imbalance between the hot and neutral wires, of 5mA, +/-1mA. Our GFCI receptacles are only to be used at 115 VAC, +/- 10%.
