Temporary Power

We build food service equipment.  The units are 480v, 3 phase.  We test the units by wiring them via temporary drop cord with the leads wired t othe line side of the disconnect.  After a few times of this, the leads look like a porcupine.  Does anyone know of something that can be crimped or otherwise put on each lead to hold up longer?  This is a production setting, so whatever it is, it has to be robust.

Thank you,
