Distributing Data without Router or Switch

Can I use my bridged phone board to send internet to various locations around my house? I would like to punch down my internet signal, and then have all of the other cables connected to my board have internet.

I see many comments of people using a router or switch. Is this really necessary?

  • Distributing Data without Router or Switch

Phone boards are designed to distribute voice signals only.   A router will be necessary if your modem does not have a built in router/gateway.  A switch can be placed after the router if you need to expand the number of data locations.
