What is the difference between a 5-20P and a L5-20P?

A 5-20P is a standard straight prong plug or receptacle. If there is a L in the plug or receptacle description such as L5-20P  this tells you that it is a Locking style outlet. Locking means the once the plug is inserted into the receptacle it is twisted to lock it into place.
