Electric Vehicle Supply Equipment
Q: Does this product work with golf carts?
A: No, the charging stations only work with vehicles that have a SAE J1772 inlet.
Q: Do we know the on board charger for the plug in Prius?
A: 3.3KW
Q: Is it accurate that the new Prius charges at level 1 in 3 hours?
A: Yes
Q: 25' Cable is only way to charge two cars together, this is a HUGE selling point and should be stressed that thus far nobody else has this size cable.
A: Yes, a 25’ EV cable provides a number of benefits. 1. Access to hard to reach vehicle inlets (rear, passenger side); 2. Dual parking spots – parallel or facing; 3. Access to SUV or cross over inlets
Zipline Fluorescent Retrofit Solution
Q: How does the installer insure proper location of the Zipline components? Do they butt against the fixture ends?
A: Yes – the components must be mounted against the fixture ends. Center-to-center spacing can be achieved by lining up the tab in the center of the ballast side with the center knockout of the fixture, and on the lampholder side, simply line up the center lampholder with the center knockout.
Q: Are the included mounting screws self-drilling as well as self-tapping?
A: Yes.
Q: For ESCO's, are we considering offering a replacement warranty service amount? Most ballast manufacturers offer a dollar amount for their product.
A: I believe there is a $10 service amount included in the warranty – I will confirm this with Fulham.
Q: In California they require the input connector as part of meeting code
A: That’s true throughout the country, but the disconnect can be located inside the fixture or outside of the fixture and many contractors carry the disconnects with them. For this reason we left the disconnect off of the stock version, but it is possible to get the product with the disconnect included as a make-to-order.
Q: Is covering up the wiring the only advantage to adding a white reflector to a fixture that already has a white interior?
A: No, the reflector shape also helps to improve light distribution and total lumen output.
Q: Could you explain the High, Normal, Low ballast factor pluses and minuses?
A: High ballast factor drives lamps at 1.15 times rated wattage. This increases light output, decreases lamp life and energy efficiency.
Normal ballast factor drives lamps at .88 times rated wattage. This results in rated light output and rated lamp life.
Low ballast factor drives lamps at .78 times rated wattage. This results in lower-than-rated light output with increased lamp life and increased energy efficiency.
Q: Are the 20-piece contractor packs for both Components and Reflectors?
A: Yes. They are packaged separately, but both are 20-pack cartons.
Q: Won't the Minimum Lamp Starting Temperature of 32 degrees be a problem in colder climates?
A: This is a standard rating for fluorescent ballasts- for much colder temperatures a different solution may be required.
Q: Will these work in an 18-cell, parabolic lens troffer?
A: It is not possible to design a generic solution that will work in any parabolic troffer, however we believe this product will fit in most parabolics – customer should test-fit to ensure that 1.5 inch clearance is available below the parabolic grate, and also to check light output.
Q: What is our position when a dimmer is requested with Zipline?
A: The instant-start version of Zipline is not dimmable. We are considering a dimmable version for 2013.
Q: What is the minimum operating temperature on these ballasts for Type 1 for outdoor use?
A: 32F, 0C
Q: When will we have T8 to T5 and T5 HO conversions?
A: T5 versions of Zipline are under consideration. If we decide to go forward with T5, the earliest we would have a T5 version would be mid-2013.
Q: Will the channel cover still mount into fixture after the Zipline is installed if you do not use the reflector?
A: In most cases, the channel cover may need some modification to fit back in the troffer after Zipline is installed. This is why we recommend using the reflector, as it will improve light output and also cover the exposed wires.
Q: Does this qualify for utility rebates?
A: Yes.
Occupancy Sensors
Q: Is the OSP20-RDH American made?
A: Yes, OSP20-RAH
Q: What is the part number of the surface mount high bay sensor?
A: OSFHS-ITW - Single
Q: Will standard power packs ever be changed to a "fail to on" format?
A: We are designing "Fail-Safe" circuits into all relay products from this point forward.
Q: Does the energy harvesting wireless occupancy sensor work OK in a room that sees NO ambient light? How long do the lights need to be on?
A: Yes. The product works in 4 footcandles of light (very low) and charges in less than a minute to be able to shut lights off ManualON/AutoOFF. For full AutoON/AutoOFF operation in no natural light rooms, product needs about 45 minutes of artificial light per day.
Q: Can you explain the difference between fail safe and fail to ON mode.
A: Fail to ON is an misrepresented and incorrect description in the market - no product can be guaranteed to be on in every Failure Event. Fail Safe is accurate and representative of what is occurring when we add new designs to further assist in pushing the relay closed prior to failure.
Sector 7
Q: Are all Sector Ballasts CEE Listed?
A: Yes
Q: What are our dimming capabilities for CFL's? 1% only relates to linear T8's, T5's, doesn't it? Or do we dim CFL's?
A: None. CFL ballasts are not part of our roadmap as we believe these loads have migrated to LED.
Meter Support
Q: What is the process for order entry and getting credit for sales that go through LES quotes?
A: Orders associated with quotations generated by LES Quotes must be sent to LESquotes@leviton.com. Orders are reviewed by Quotations and passed to Project Management by the next business day. Project Management then enters the order into LES’ INMASS order management system. This system is separate from PLION and does not integrate with BEST reporting. Monthly reports for any C&I or ED orders in INMASS are issued to C&I and ED sales management (Directors and VPs).
Q: Is this Department and support also for Latin America Region?
A: Both LES Technical/Meter Support and LES Quotations are available to assist customers worldwide. Note that pricing quotes to international customers may need to come from the Leviton country/sales office rather than directly from LES Quotes. LES Technical/Meter Support has limited bilingual support. LES Quotes supports customers in English language only.
