SFP+ cable assemblies may be ‘mechanically’ and ‘electrically’ interoperable (per SFP Committee requirements), but not interoperable with specific manufacturers equipment.  You may get an error message that the active equipment does not recognize the specific SFP+ assembly.   For some active equipment, there may be a way to overwrite the error message and allow for the equipment to recognize the assembly.
