NSI NRD8000 and DDS8800 With I/F 5 interface

Hello
My company just installed a NSI DDS8800 and two NRD8000 dimmers into a venue for all of our conventional lighting. We have a total of 24 channels to play with and they all seem to work fine with a microplex board.
The issue I'm having is with adding it to a DMX controller like a Hog 500 or Light Jockey.
When I connect it into the dmx chain either on its own universe or in line with the rest of the fixture it will not work correctly. I have 3 pin going from the Microplex out to the dimmer and there all linked together. And I have the DMX from the controller to the DMX In.
After finding the manual from the interface box I set it to the correct config for DMX-Microplex and I can controll some of the channels (about 8) with DMX but not all 24. Also if I try and set the dmx address on the dip switchs to anything I have zero control. If all switchs are down I have my 8 channels.
The manual said something about jumper j4 j5 on so I opened it up and tried linking the two jumpers together but I just got a error light on the box.
Can someone help me out. These damn dimmers have been a huge headache since they were installed!
