Will cat6 ever replace Cat5e?

Yes, just as Cat5 replaced cat3, Cat6 will replace Cat5e. Technology and network infrastructure demands are constantly growing, this means home and business owners are needing their data systems to work faster and faster to keep up. Industry analyst predictions show that nearly 90 percent of all new installations will be cabled with Cat6. The fact that Cat6 link and channel requirements are backward compatible to Category 5e makes it very easy for customers to choose Cat6 and bypass Cat5e in their networks. Applications that worked over Cat5e will work over Cat6 just as well if not better.
